چکیده
Abstract Overpumping or overexploitation of groundwater is one the major threats for aquifer systems in arid and semi-arid areas. Managed recharge (MAR) has been suggested by many researchers as a sustainable effective method to alleviate negative impacts overpumping. Optimizing artificial considers selection suitable MAR sites terms surface subsurface characteristics. While characteristics at potential could be modified (e.g. slope, soil texture, etc.), cannot changed through engineering work. Characteristics aquifer, such depth groundwater, play an important role determining capability store specific volume infiltrated water. Currently, only limited number quoted researches are available that consider factors related range these identify optimal sites. In this study, new approach presented, employs numerical modeling generate suitability maps considering sub-surface characteristics, depth-to-groundwater, transmissivity yield. Removal kinetics of organic compounds and sum parameters under field conditions for managed aquifer recharge.
Managed aquifer recharge (MAR) provides efficient removal for many organic compounds and sum parameters. However, observed in situ removal efficiencies tend to scatter and cannot be predicted easily. In this paper, a method is introduced which allows to identify and eliminate biased samples and to quantify simultaneously the impact of (i) redox conditions (ii) kinetics (iii) residual threshold ...
متن کاملEconomics of Managed Aquifer Recharge
Managed aquifer recharge (MAR) technologies can provide a variety of water resources management benefits by increasing the volume of stored water and improving water quality through natural aquifer treatment processes. Implementation of MAR is often hampered by the absence of a clear economic case for the investment to construct and operate the systems. Economic feasibility can be evaluated usi...

15 صفحه اولGroundwater modeling for estimation of the recharge rate and identification of appropriate recharge sites in Damghan Plain, Iran
Water is the main option of any development, so having an accurate management of groundwater is necessary. This study has been done in Damghan sedimentary plain in Iran, which is located in northwest of Semnan Province. The main objective of this research was to estimate the rate and right site of recharge in Damghan plain to prevent the aquifer from decreasing the water table. For this purpose...
متن کاملPolicy and Economics of Managed Aquifer Recharge and Water Banking
Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) and water banking are of increasing importance to water resources management. MAR can be used to buffer against drought and changing or variable climate, as well as provide water to meet demand growth, by making use of excess surface water supplies and recycled waters. Along with hydrologic and geologic considerations, economic and policy analyses are essential to...
